C/R: Female teacher commit suicide at Assin Fosu

A 27-year-old trained teacher known as Catherine Ansah has allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself with a sponge at Assin Fosu in the Central Region.

The heart-rending incident reportedly occurred near the Latter Day Saint Church in Assin Fosu. The name of the school, where she taught before her unexpected death and other information about her are yet to emerge.

According to her grandmother Madam Mary Pamfors, they realized that it was unusual for her to be out of her room in the morning, and so they called her phone several times, but she was not answering.

Adding that, they searched everywhere in the room where she slept but their search proved nothing.

This raised some suspicion and that prompted them to break into another room where she was found lifeless.

“This morning, we didn’t see her and we kept calling but she was not answering. So we became suspicious and when we entered her room, we found her dead,” a relative revealed.

The cause of her action is currently not known

But Some residents who spoke to MyNewsGhana described her to be a calm and quiet lady.

Police in Assin Fosu have since initiated an investigation.

Meanwhile, the body has been deposited at the St. Francis Xavier Hospital morgue in Assin Foso for autopsy.
